DESCRIPTION:
French black marble 8 days, time and strike, mantel clock, c1900
CONDITION:
the heavy stone case is in good condition with most of the incised patterns and color still intact. There are a few minor corner edge chips. The brass engraved dial surround is a profusion of birds, branches and leaves; the dial center is colorful tiny leaves; the black marble dial is signed "Jas. McEwan & Co., Melbourne". The beaded brass bezel and thick beveled glass are fine. The movements shows "A.1" but is otherwise unsigned. Ht 13"
